Zaida Maureen Haggart , born August 4, 1936 went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ and join her loving husband, Gerry on Wednesday, February 13th at the age of 76. Maureen is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Darrell) Close and Kathy (Ed) Denicola and son Tom (Karen) Haggart. Maureen dearly cherished her six red-headed grandchildren: Nathan, Joseph, Courtney, Leah, Joshua, and Bradley. Maureen is also survived by four brothers and two sisters; Gene, Bob, Jeff, Ray, Nanette, and Seena. She was predeceased by her father Ted, mother Jennie, and sister Bernice. Mom was a generous, warm-hearted, godly woman who will be missed tremendously by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She loved going to church and Christian Seniors meetings, doing daily crossword puzzles, watching mystery shows, and eating tomato soup and potato chips. A funeral service to remember our wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend will be held on Tuesday, February 19th at 10 a.m. at Assman's Funeral Chapel, 1908 Queensway St. with her son-in-law Minister Edward Denicola officiating. Intermet to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Spirit of the North Foundation for Jubilee Lodge. Refreshments will follow at the Prince George Gospel Chapel at 1590 Queensway. A special thank-you to the amazing staff at Jubilee Lodge for their excellent care of our mother this past year. We take comfort in knowing that Mom is “absent from the body... and present with the Lord.†2 Cor. 5:8.
