Russell Harold Mooney April 9, 1934 August 29, 2012 We are saddened to announce the passing of Russell on August 29, 2012 in Prince George. He was preceded in passing by his loving wife, Shirley (nee Prentice) in 2003, by his mother, Ruby, in 1991, and by his father, Harold, in 2000. He is survived by his brothers Glenn (Lillian) Kelowna, BC, Gordon (Margaret) Prince George, BC, and Wayne (Carol) Lloydminster, SK and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He became close to his nephew, Murray (Charlene), who became his soul caregivers in many ways. Russell was born in Star City. He attended elementary schooling in Nipawin SK and the remainder of his schooling in Choiceland. He became a grain buyer and was a buyer in various places in Saskatchewan including Lucky Lake, Macrorie, and Beechy where he met and married his wife (Shirley Prentice) of 45 years. He farmed for a few years and then changed careers and moved to B.C. in 1972. His was employed by Northwood Pulp & Timber Limited, Prince George Sawmill Division in Prince George, B C until his retirement in 1993. He was known to many around Prince George as the Candy Man. There is a great appreciation to all the special staff at Parkside Care Home where Russell resided his last two years before passing on. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
