Ed Raymond Belair (Ray) July 27, 1914 ~ October 19, 2011 Ray passed away at the age of 97 on the wedding anniversary date to his late wife Sophie. Born and lived in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. until the passing of his son Glen. Came to Prince George B.C. to be with his daughter for his remaining time. What a colorful gentleman. A lot of great stories were told of the depression years and his life's experiences. Ray did bush work, road building, sailing, cook, was in the Army, worked at Algoma Steel, then became a Hoisting Engineer at the Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. locks. He married Sophie and had 2 children. Ray accomplished things he wanted from life. He became a Taxidermist, a Jewellery maker and later after retirement made lawn chairs and whirly gigs. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, berry picking and gardening. Ray is predeceased by his wife Sophie, son Glen, mother Harriet, father Alphonse, brothers; Henry, James, Rene & Fred, sister Margurite. He leaves behind his daughter Sheron, sisters: Lily & Muriel, daughter-in-law Olive. Grandchildren: Adonica, Daniel, David, Valerie and Keith. Great Grandchildren: Sophia, Krrstyn, & William. Great Great Grandson Oliver. Many nephews and nieces and many friends he's gathered over the years. Ray will be cremated and returned to Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. next summer. He will be laid to rest with his loving wife, his mother and his father.
